Take the chill off foods before cooking. Remove foods from the refrigerator and allow them to warm slightly (10-15 minutes).
Preheat your pan over medium heat. Test the edge of the pan by tapping it lightly and quickly with your fingers. If it's hot to the touch, it's ready for cooking. Then add about 1 tablespoon of oil or butter and let that get hot. You should hear a sizzle upon placing your food items in the pan.
Turn down the heat! Keep heat at medium to medium-high for frying or sautéing. For simmering and longer stovetop cooking, use low heat. One way to test your pan to see if it's too hot is to do the butter test. Unpeel a stick of butter and coat the inside of your preheated pan. If the butter foams and turns brown, the pan is too hot.
Keep your cookware thoroughly clean, inside and out, for performance as well as appearance. Residue from previous cooking is a common cause of sticking, even on nonstick surfaces. Sometimes hot soapy water does not remove all the oils that build up over time. We recommend cleaning pans periodically with a non-abrasive cleanser.
Condition new pans before use by wiping the surface with a thin coating of shortening or oil. Use medium to low heat for best cooking results. Extremely high temperatures can cause discoloration and shorten the life of any nonstick finish. If higher temperatures are necessary, preheat the pan on medium for a few minutes. Nylon, plastic, wooden or rubber utensils are preferred. Metal utensils may be used with care, but don't cut in the pan.
Dishwashers will not affect the nonstick coating but may affect handles or knobs. Recondition the coating after dishwasher washing by wiping with thin coating of shortening or oil.
Most of our kitchenware products are dishwasher safe. Refer to packaging instructions to verify that an item is labeled as dishwasher safe. Some exceptions include gadgets with gearing such as can openers, items inappropriate for submerging in water such as scales or dial timers, any items made of wood, and all battery-operated items such as digital timers and thermometers. For best results, or if in question, hand wash items with a soapy cloth or sponge and dry immediately. Dishwashing tends to shorten the life of kitchenware products due to heat and aggressive detergents.
Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for care of all Corelle Brands products.

Instant Brands
When people talk about their “Instant Pot® ” they’re probably talking about one of our best-selling electric pressure cookers, but we’re so much more than that!
Other than our best-selling electric pressure cookers, the Instant Brands family of game-changing small kitchen appliances has grown to include:
Cooking and Beverage Blenders
- Air Fryers
- Air Fryer Ovens
- Toaster Ovens
- Rice & Grain Cookers
- Sous Vide Immersion Circulators
- Kettles
- Multicookers
Check out Instant Appliances for more details.
Most Instant Pot® products are categorized by referring to the number of appliances a single Instant Pot® can replace.
For example, the Duo™ Nova 7-in-1 replaces the following appliances: Pressure cooker, slow cooker, sauté pan, steamer, rice cooker, yogurt maker and food warmer.
Some Instant Pot® products like the Duo Evo™ Plus are so versatile it’s impossible to say how many products it can replace! The Duo Evo Plus is a pressure cooker, rice cooker, slow cooker, yogurt maker, steamer, sous vide, sauté, food warmer, cake maker, and stock pot to name a few—and it can do so much more!
After a ton of testing, we finally took the guesswork out of cooking. The Instant Pot® uses pre-programmed cooking instructions for one-touch preparation of various food ingredients and cooking methods.
The Instant Pot® also remembers the changes you make to each Smart Program, providing a smarter, more personalized cooking experience.
Instant™ air fryers are small-capacity appliances that rapidly circulate hot air to quickly cook and crisp food. An air fryer can be used in place of a deep fryer, using minimal amounts of oil for the same golden crunch!
Check out our Instant™ Vortex™ Air Fryers to learn more!
Instant™ air fryer ovens are large-capacity appliances that rapidly circulates hot air to quickly cook and crisp large food items. It can be used in place of a deep fryer, using minimal amounts of oil for the same tasty crunch!
Learn more about our Instant™ Vortex™ Air Fryer Ovens!
The Instant™ Rice & Grain Cookers work just like traditional rice cookers—only better. Just one button cooks up your favorite type of rice or grain, steams veggies, poaches fish, and much more.
For more details, check out our Instant™ Zest™ Rice & Grain Cookers.
Sous vide cooking is the process of bringing vacuum-sealed food to a specific temperature and maintaining that temperature for a period of time. This process ensures that your food will not overcook, while allowing fats to render and proteins to break down.
The immersion circulator is placed into a large container (such as the Instant Pot® inner pot) with warm water. It circulates the water around sealed food pouches, maintaining the temperature precisely for tender, flavorful results.
See our Instant™ Accu™ Sous Vides to learn more.
Until now the 6 Quart Duo™ has been a popular powerhouse, but its new family members are quickly catching up.
Check out the Duo™ Nova and the Duo Evo™ Plus to see how the Instant Pot® team has used your feedback to make improvements and innovations on the design of the most popular electric pressure cooker on the market.
Most models come in a variety of sizes, measured by their capacity in Quarts: 3, 6, 8, or 10.
- 3 Quart: Called the “Mini”, this size is perfect when cooking for just 1 or 2 people, or for preparing side dishes or rice.
- 6 Quart: This size is suitable for feeding up to 6 people and is our most popular size.
- 8 Quart: Cook for up to 8 people with this size or use it for large batch meal preparation.
- 10 Quart: This is the best size when you’re cooking for a crowd or when making large batches for meal prep or freezing.
Visit our Product Comparison Chart for details on all 3, 6, 8 and 10 quart models.
Check out all our other Instant™ Appliances.
The Ultra and Max models of Instant Pot® come with the ability to adjust pressure settings to account for altitude.
Pressure canners requires a minimum of 15 psi for safe canning of low-acid foods, such as meat.
Most Instant Pot® electric pressure cookers operate within a range of 10-12 psi, which is safe for water bath canning of high-acid foods, such as jams and chutney.
Modifying cooking times, ingredients or temperatures can be dangerous. Use the exact time, temperature/pressure and method specified in the recipe to protect the food from harmful bacteria, molds, and enzymes. Read and carefully follow the instructions provided in the USDA’s Complete Guide to Home Canning.
The IInstant Pot® Max is the only electric pressure cooker with a dedicated Canning Smart Program.

Corelle
Corelle® products are created using a special glass lamination process that thermally bonds two clear "skin" layers of glass to a white or beige "core" layer. This proprietary technique is unique to Corelle® - in fact, we invented it!
All Corelle® stoneware products and glazes are made of clay-based materials and glazes used throughout the industry. Decorations, if present, are made from low-lead enamels and fired at temperatures exceeding 1000 degrees F, which binds any heavy metals both physically and chemically so that their release is minimized.
The current limit for presence of leachable lead in order to satisfy certain requirements is no more than 0.100 ppm (1 tenth of one part per million) when obtained under test conditions. At no time have Corelle Brands results exceeded levels permissible under the guidelines mentioned above (which are believed to be the most stringent in the world).
Tests for the presence of heavy metals are conducted for Corelle Brands by internationally certified, third-party laboratories under strict conditions, by trained technicians, and using atomic absorption spectrophotometry analysis following carefully monitored preparation. These steps are necessary to minimize any possibility of contamination or false reading during preparation, testing or analysis.

Yes, Corelle® dinnerware is oven safe up to 350° F (177° C) when used in accordance with the safety and usage Instructions that came with your product at the time of purchase. All attachments (foot and handle) are only safe up to 248° F (120° C). See details here.
We try to create dinnerware designs with lasting appeal but, unfortunately, some patterns lose their popularity over time. When this happens, we discontinue the pattern. Even if your favorite pattern has been discontinued, we may be able to locate the pieces you need. Contact our Customer Care Center or email us via our online contact form.
The glass lamination process used for Corelle® ware is ideal for making plates and bowls, but it unfortunately does not work well for cup or mug shapes. That's why we offer stoneware mugs with every Corelle® dinnerware set.
Although Corelle® dinnerware is made of Vitrelle® glass, known for its strength and durability, all glass is breakable. We offer a three-year warranty against breakage, chipping, and staining under normal household use. This warranty does not cover accidental breakage.
Before Corelle® products leave the factory, they are sprayed with an organic, non-toxic coating to help prevent damage during shipping. Wash your Corelle® ware with detergent and hot water before using it, or run it through a dishwasher cycle.
Although Corelle® dinnerware is made of Vitrelle® glass, known for its strength and durability, metal utensils, silverware, metal dishwasher racks, metal cleaning pads, and stainless steel sinks may cause gray markings. These gray marks can be removed with a non-abrasive cleaner such as Zud®.
Each community's water supply is slightly different. That means Corelle® cups may stain due to mineral deposits from use of untreated water over time. The oils from coffee or tea may adhere to the sides of the cups because of the mineral deposits/residue in the water. These stains can be removed with a nonabrasive cleaner such as Bon-Ami®. Or, fill the cup 1/4 full with vinegar and clean with a paper towel. Rinse and dry thoroughly. DO NOT attempt to use bleach to clean the stains, as this will only lighten them. Stains may reappear if the water used for cleaning is left untreated.
No worry - rust-colored marks can be caused by iron deposits in your water supply or even by exposed metal parts in your dishwasher or drying rack. Try a nonabrasive cleaner such as Bar Keeper's Friend® or Zud®.
Corelle® products can be used for serving and re-heating food in microwaves or pre-heated conventional ovens up to 350° F (176° C). To warm empty dinnerware for serving, use pre-heated conventional ovens only. Porcelain and stoneware mugs are microwavable
Pyrex

The gray marks are most likely from metal utensils, which should not be used with CorningWare® casserole dishes. Instead use wooden, nylon or plastic utensils. To loosen food before cleaning, allow the bakeware to soak and then use only plastic or nylon cleaning pads with nonabrasive cleansers. A soft sponge with a non-abrasive cleaner should remove the gray marks.
The five new shapes - each with new handle designs for safety and comfort - are ideal for complementing your current French White® collection or starting a new one. The glass covers provide a contemporary look, and the plastic covers are vented with an inner seal to optimize freshness. The new design eliminates areas where food can become trapped, allowing room for fingers to easily wipe away remnants. Plus, the new pieces are all dishwasher safe.
The new gasket-sealing plastic covers feature a unique design to help keep your stored food as fresh as possible. Simply press down the cover and close the steam vent to create a tight seal. Later, simply pop the steam vent to open the seal.
All CorningWare® oven bakeware products (including metallic-banded French White® products) can be used in conventional, convection and microwave ovens as well as in the refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher.
The new French White® products are designed to nest within each other. How you stack yours depends on the pieces you own and the size of your cabinets. The new, contemporary glass lids are specially designed to rest on their handles, making stacking easy as well as helping to protect your table from condensation. The handles of the nonstick roasting racks are removable for easy cleaning, and the arms fold underneath. NOTE: Products that are the same size and shape should NOT be nested inside each other as they may get stuck and then be damaged when separated.
Corningware Percolators have been discontinued for some time and no parts are available. If you have a specific question you need assistance with, please email us via our online contact form.
All CorningWare® stoneware bakeware is covered by a limited one-year warranty. For details, check out our warranty section.
All CorningWare® stoneware bakeware items are breakable. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury or property damage. Tempting as it may be, do not use on stovetop, under a broiler/griller, under a microwave browning element, in a toaster oven, or on or near any other direct heating source such as range vents, open flames, etc. See full instructions for stoneware bakeware in our use & care section.
Chicago Cutlery
Chicago Cutlery® knives are warranted to be free of defects in material &workmanship under normal household use for the lifetime of the product.
Sharp knives are safer than dull ones because dull knives require more pressure for cutting, which can result in slipping. 1. Hold sharpening steel point down on flat stable surface like table or cutting board 2. Angle the knife blade so that it is approximately 15 degrees from the sharpening steel 3. Pull the knife down and across the sharpening steel in a slight arc, pulling the knife handle toward you. Stroke the entire blade edge from base to tip. 4. Repeat on the other side of the steel. 5. Repeat steps 3 &4 three to five times, alternating the right and left side of the cutting edge. Knives should be sharpened after every couple uses for maximum performance. Use a scouring powder to clean and remove metal particles from your sharpening steel. After cleaning the steel, rinse it with water, dry it thoroughly and store it in a dry place.
For best results, hand wash your knives with a soapy cloth and dry immediately. Soaking wood-handled knives in water can remove the natural oils from the handles. Dishwashing may cause banging against other dishes that can nick the edges. Additionally, the heat and detergent may have a corrosive effect on the handles.
Sharp knives should never be stored loose in a drawer because contact with hard objects can dull the blade, and reaching into a knife drawer can be very dangerous. We recommend storing your knives in a hardwood block for safety and convenience. Many Chicago Cutlery® sets include a hardwood block for storage. Empty Chicago Cutlery® hardwood blocks are also available at many retailers.
Stamped knives are punched out of a single sheet of steel, resulting in thin, light blades. Forged knives are made from one piece of steel that is heated until soft then pounded into shape with a hammer. Forged knives are strong and heavy with a bolster (located where the blade meets the handle) for safety and balance. Chicago Cutlery offers a wide variety of knives with both stamped and forged blades.
Commercial-grade knives are available through the following distributors:
- Gamco
- Hantover Bunzl-Koch Supplies
- Memco Southland Industrial Supply
Snapware
Yes, we recommend washing all containers before storing food in them. Please follow the directions that came with your container or read the Use & Care Instructions.
Yes, every product that Snapware® currently sells is completely free of bisphenol-A (BPA). Snapware is committed to providing customers with safe, high quality and innovative storage containers, and removing BPA from all products is an important part of doing just that. Recently there has been much debate over the safety of BPA, which is a component of polycarbonate used in many plastics. BPA can potentially leach from containers when heated (via microwave or other methods), ultimately creating a safety risk when in contact with food. Due to these potential hazards, Snapware's extensive product lines are manufactured entirely without the use of BPA. We back our BPA-free claim with continuous material testing conducted by an internationally recognized independent lab. For additional details on BPA, visit https://www.factsonplastic.com/.
Corelle Brands LLC guarantees that all Snapware® products shall be free from defects in material and workmanship. If you do have a lid or container that breaks, contact our Consumer Care Center; we would be happy to replace it for you. Always keep your product as you may be required to return it.
Our lids all use removable adhesives that should come off easily; however, sometimes heat and other factors make the stickers difficult to remove completely. In this case, before washing, use a hair dryer to heat the label. Then peel it off. You also can use any type of oil or any product specially designed to remove adhesive stickers.

Our weights vary depending on the size of the containers. The capacities listed below are divided among all the trays of that size; we do not recommend using more than 5 trays latched together. You may notice some slight bowing of the lid as you lift full containers. This is normal and expected, and should hold just fine.
Size Lid | Maximum total capacity |
Small (6" x 6") | 10 lbs. |
Medium (6" x 9") | 19 lbs. |
Large (10" x 14") | 20 lbs. |
